Kissing Other People or the House of Fame Launch

Join us for the launch of Kay Gabriel’s Kissing Other People or the House of Fame.

7pm, Friday 19 November, 2021
Unnameable Books
600 Vanderbilt Ave, Brooklyn, NY

Featuring additional readings by Diana Hamilton, Hannah Black, and Becca Teich.

A book in two halves, Kissing Other People or the House of Fame opens with a sequence of poems that roam the grotty, sublime streets: patting rats, reading pamphlets, enduring labour, acquiring falafel, waving to friends. Then the book flips on a seam and invokes Chaucer as an unlikely guide through a series of dream-blocks, each autonomous yet resonant with attachments and perversions as they come and go, repeat and echo.

All welcome

Inferno Launch

Join us for the launch of Andrew Brooks’s Inferno.

2-5pm, Saturday 20 November, 2021
Frontyard Projects
228 Illawarra Rd, Marrickville, NSW

To be launched by Tom Melick and featuring readings by Pam Brown, Astrid Lorange, and Angus McGrath.

Inside every version of the world that is burning down from the misery and appetite of capital, there is another world that is burning down from the love and rage of an assembly. Inferno reimagines Dante’s Hell in an age of raging bushfires and endless bureaucratic violence, and suggests a way to get from one burning world to another.

All welcome (children especially!)
